Queerfully Made

why we're here.

Because no one should have to choose between who they are and what they believe.

Because not talking about it isn't helping anyone.

Because healing happens when someone says "me too."

Because allies are made, not born, and they need the conversation too.

meet the humans.

Host

Aaron Kelly

Aaron is a former Pentecostal pastor and now out, proud gay man. He spent over 12 years in leadership in evangelical churches. Aaron knew he was gay at 14 years old, but believed the church's teachings that who he was was a sin, so he buried his sexuality under layers of masking and "good works", even marrying a woman to "heal" his sexuality.
In 2020, at age 36, he came out after spending significant time studying what the Bible actually says about sexuality, only to discover that what he'd believed his entire life was mistranslated and misinterpreted. He lost his church, most of his friends, and his sense of self. But, he built it all back. Louder. Queerer. And with better music.

Ben Nicholson

Ben is a former evangelical church leader and now out, proud gay man. He spent years in ministry leadership at churches in Sydney and Brisbane, the whole time hiding the fact that he was attracted to men. He told pastors, read the books, did the courses, dated the Christian girls, and performed the role of the good church boy so convincingly that no one suspected a thing.
In 2020, during COVID isolation, the mask finally cracked. He came out, his family breathed a sigh of relief, and the double life he'd been white-knuckling for over a decade was done. He's never been more himself. Calmer. Freer. And absolutely not going back.
